Developing Identity in Chatbots

An experimental AI project in collaboration with London-based photographer Harry Hawkes

AI Integration

The Brief

Photographer Harry Hawkes aimed to explore the complexities of identity in the age of AI through a photo shoot and a series of model interviews.

The goal was to leverage these interviews to create AI chatbots capable of meaningful conversation.

What We Did

We conducted and recorded interviews with the models, then post-processed and transcribed the audio into files suitable for fine-tuning OpenAI’s LLM models.

We trained multiple LLM models to develop four independent chatbots designed for conversational engagement.

After extensive training and testing, we conducted interviews with these newly developed chatbots.

Impact

The project culminated in the successful creation of four chatbots capable of nuanced conversation, reflecting the complexities of identity explored in the photo shoot.

The highlights of these AI interviews were published in Neighbourhood Magazine, showcasing the innovative blend of photography and AI, and sparking discussions on identity in the digital age.
